This unit will help the children:• Learn that they can lovingly share the Good News of Jesus.

the reason we teach this unit

The children will learn that God has the power to transform people. They will study that Paul was a great preacher of the gospel. They will know that it is important to talk about Jesus to others.

They will understand that, in the midst of difficult situations, they can tell others about Jesus.

In the past unit, your children learned about the early church and communion among believers. In this next unit, they will learn more about the growth of the early church through the work of one man, Saul, who was later known as Paul.

Paul was the first missionary. He traveled through Asia Minor, Greece and Rome. During his travels he preached the Good News of Jesus Christ to Jews and Gentiles. He is an example to us. When we know, love and follow the Son of God, we can freely tell others about him.

Once Saul met Jesus, he had no other purpose but to preach the message of salvation to people. In a little more than ten years, he established many churches throughout the Roman Empire. Preschoolers will learn an important truth: when we follow and love Jesus, we need to talk about him to others.
