This unit will help the children:

• Understand that families should love and care for each other• Know that family members must care for each other• See that family members must take care of one another• Understand that family members must care for each other.

the reason we teach this unit

The family is the immediate world of young children, and it is in this nucleus that they may experience unconditional love and acceptance. However, many children experience rejection and pain. Jacob’s family shows mixed feelings of love and rejection. But, the children will see how Joseph’s love of God enabled him to overcome his brothers’ rejection.
