the reason we teach this unit

The story about God’s creative power has sparked heated debate between scientists and theologians. Our children may have already observed alternative ideas about how life began.

Through the lessons in this unit they will learn God created and shaped everything out of nothing. God is identified as our creator, and we are united to him as his creation. However, our children will learn that sin disrupted God’s good plan. Evil and disobedience eventually filled the hearts of the people, and God sent the Flood to start civilization again.
