This unit will help the children:• Learn that Jesus obeyed his Father God, and that we can do the same• Know that Jesus is the Son of God and understand that his baptism shows that he came to save us from our sin• Learn that when Jesus was tempted by Satan, he decided to obey God and that we can do the same thing when we are tempted to do wrong• Become followers of Jesus.

the reason we teach this unit

Please allow adequate time as you prepare for each of your sessions. Nazarene Discipleship International (NDI) desires these children's discipleship lessons to both engage the teacher in personal discipleship as well as to be children's disciple makers. At this early elementary age, it is important that your children know that Jesus Christ is the character of a real story. Many times, the border between the fantasy stories they see in the cartoons, and reality, is confusing. It is important that they begin to know Jesus from their childhood. Precisely, this series of lessons will allow your children to know Jesus from their early age. Through the biblical texts, they will begin to familiarize themselves first with a young one who called people’s attention to his wisdom; second, with the way he responded with Scripture to each temptation of the devil; and finally, with his special way of selecting those who would make up his inner circle. He did not seek wealthy and influential people, but he chose simple and even some coarse men.
