This unit will help the children:• Know that the Bible is special because it contains God’s message for us• Know that the Bible teaches them about Jesus, the Son of God• Know that God uses his Word to teach his children to do the right thing• Know that the Bible teaches them to live correctly

the reason we teach this unit

Throughout these KidzFirst discipleship resources, we engage in systematic study and application of the Word of God. Knowing God's Word is indispensable to Christlike discipleship. Being actively engaged in the systematic study and application of the Word of God is a catalyst for spiritual transformation and growth. Therefore, we also encourage parents and children to engage in personal and family devotional times. For younger children, story Bibles are helpful. Then, as children mature, other age-appropriate Bibles are useful tools. We encourage accountability for both new and maturing disciples in our Sunday Schools and other small groups. Therein healthy relationships are developed that move beyond "regular" meetings for connecting friends to Christlikeness as a way of life. We encourage a mixture of Bible study and social interaction that is essential for growth in grace.

Your children need to understand how the Bible is special to us. They need to know that it tells us about Jesus. It helps us to decide to do the right things. Through these lessons they can desire to learn from it each day.
