objectives of this unit

This unit will help your students:• Learn and accept the authority of Christ in their lives• Follow the example Jesus gave us, and seek strength and security through prayer• Stand firm in their faith, despite persecution• Learn that Jesus died for them• Learn that Jesus was resurrected from the dead.

the reason we teach this unit

In these times, many people see Easter as a time for rest or vacation. However, the real meaning of this special celebration is very different. Religious tradition has also turned everything related to the death and resurrection of Christ into rites and rituals. It is common to see long processions through the main streets of the cities of the world, elaborate rituals that remind us of the painful road leading to Christ’s last moments on Calvary. For Christians, Easter is more than a simple religious celebration. It is the commemoration of the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior. In addition, it is a time to reflect on the gift of our salvation and give thanks for it. In this unit, your students will study some events of the life of Jesus, from the triumphal entry to his resurrection. They will learn that prayer is the source of power to face problems. They will also study about the humility and meekness that Jesus had in order to endure the mistreatment, and they will know that through the death of the Son of God, we have life in abundance.

Pray for the Lord to guide you as you prepare these special lessons which will surely impact the lives of your students.

Mentoring and equipping is a discipleship process that introduces new believers to Jesus and reveals how to follow him personally and fully. The aim is to enable all to become Christlike disciples who maintain certain priorities, such as:
having a deep and sincere passion to follow Jesus,
depending completely on the power of Christ for obedience,
manifesting a humble spirit of servanthood,
developing spiritual gifts for the purpose of edifying the Body of Christ,
practicing personal stewardship in all areas of life,
being committed to the Body of Christ through mutually accountable relationships,
living in daily experience with the Holy Spirit for sanctification and empowerment for ministry, and
intentionally devoting oneself to Jesus daily through time in God's Word and prayer.
